Random Thoughts. . .

Here's a funny story I forgot to share-
You might remember Kim. . .
Well, I don't have time to share her full story but she some how ended up in good ol' Columbus, Georgia. Her English is good but she still has a thick Korean accent that I view as endearing. Apparently Germans don't have quite the same thinking. We were getting a quick lunch from a bakery and when Kim went to order she encountered a small problem, they couldn't understand her. The employee asked Kim, "are you speaking English?" After Kim confirmed that she was the employee replied, "well you're English is not very good," in a rather rude way, I might add. Kim, now very offended said, "well your English not good either!"
Hilarious.

Other observations:

In Germany, wedding bands on worn on the right hand ring finger rather than left hand.

P.D.A. is completely socially accepted. (Including but not limited to teenage make-out sessions in the street, on the subway platform, and on the subway, gay and lesbian make-out sessions in all the afore mentioned locations, groping on the subway, etc etc etc)

Most Germans know English.

Tips are not expected in restaurants.

Smiling is optional and rare.

Chivalry is non-existant. (at least when it comes to door holding, giving up seats on subways, etc)

Bicycles, walking, subways, and/or buses are the main forms of transportation rather than cars.

Every female could be a super model.

Making conversation with strangers is, well. . . strange.

Dads are seen pushing strollers alone through the park as often, if not more often, than Moms.

Shopping bags at the grocery store cost extra (.50 Euros a piece, to be exact).
